Architectural Contributions of Rudolf Steiner
PLATE IV.
PLATE IV. (Facing page 72). The Interior: in the Auditorium,
looking towards the South-West. On the right. between the
two most westerly pillars, we see the organ, set in the
carved wood to harmonise with the building as a whole. To
the left, we see the second of the seven pillars on the
south side of the auditorium; there are seven on either
side, symmetrically arranged about the main axis running
from West to East. Note the massive wood-carving of the
capitals and architrave, and the evolution in form from one
pillar on to the next. Above the architrave, a small section
of the painted dome is visible. This inner dome is of course
distinct from the outer dome seen in Plates I. and II., the
intervening space being hollow.
